Key responsibilities:
- Receive Supply Requisitions, solicit quotations from vendors and negotiate best prices
- Prepare quotation matrix for selection and approval
- Raise Local Purchase Orders for approval
- Participate in the tender process
- Ensure purchases are properly approved in line with MEDS-published authority levels
- Update Supplier performance concerns for decision making
- Receive and record invoices for non-trade commodities to facilitate prompt payment
- Ensure prompt filing of procurement documents for easy retrieval
- Advise and support MEDS staff on procurement of stock, non-stock items and other
- MEDS needs and ensure best procurement practices are observed at all times.
Job requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in Procurement or Supply Chain and Diploma in Pharmacy
- At least 5 years of experience 3 of which in a busy procurement department in a Pharmaceutical Supply Chain
- Knowledge of procurement using ERP systems desired
- Functional skills; Negotiation skills, Customer care skills, analytical skills, people skills and communication skills
