The Kenya Meat Commission (KMC) was formed in 1950 through an act of parliament with an objective of providing a ready market for livestock farmers and providing high-quality meat and meat products to consumers.  It is a public institution and by far the oldest and the most experienced meat processor in Kenya and the larger East African region.

Kenya Meat Commission invites applications from self-motivated and qualified candidates for the vacancy in its establishment.

1)    TECHNICIANS, JOB GRADE – KMC 10 (2 POSTS)

 Duties and Responsibilities

1. Carrying out routine maintenance required on plant;
2. Installing, servicing, repairing and maintaining existing and new equipment;
3. Following up and recommending action on recurrent faults;
4. Attending to mechanical faults and breakdowns in the Commission;
5. Analyzing and investigating re-current faults; and
6. Adhering to statutory regulations and Commission safety rules and regulations.

   (b) Requirements for Appointment   

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

1. Certificate in Mechanical Engineering and or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; and
2. Proficiency in computer applications.
3. Fulfilled the requirements of chapter six (6) of the constitution.
